We are looking for a Maintenance technician to join our rentals team. Reporting to the Property Managers, the Maintenance position is responsible for ensuring the optimal condition of their assigned properties and building systems to ensure satisfied tenants and efficient building operations. This position is required oversee and travel to multiple rental properties located in the Lower Mainland.

We are looking for a candidate who will be involved hands-on in the day-to-day maintenance of the properties and will be performing maintenance repairs in tenant suites.  As the role will be overseeing several small rental properties, the ideal candidate is someone a well rounded in the maintenance field with experience doing minor plumbing, minor drywall, painting, cabinet replacements and minor appliance repairs. The position will also be responsible for doing regular building inspections in boiler rooms and other mechanical rooms.  The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys troubleshooting, is resourceful and reliable, strives to provide quality work and customer service, and thrives in an environment that is deadline driven.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing maintenance repairs in tenant’s suites including: plumbing (sinks & taps), remove and replace toilets, heating, locks, fans, electrical, minor appliance repairs, and moving appliances (i.e. fridges & stoves);
  • Performing in house maintenance including changing locks and minor building and repairs as required such as, plumbing, minor drywall, painting, wall paper repairs, cabinet replacements and other duties are required;
  • Using power tools, hand tools and various auxiliary instruments for building cabinets, laminate countertops, doors, dry wall and other related work in suites and wood work projects around the properties;
  • Performing regular building inspections, checking and logging inspections in boiler rooms and other mechanical rooms of the properties;
  • Assisting in the organization, inventory, and maintaining the maintenance and carpentry shop (e.g. tools, materials, parts, etc);
  • Maintaining all interior and exterior lighting systems including replacing lights, repairs, and management of lighting supplies;
  • Maintaining the exterior grounds including picking up litter, watering plants, pressure washing and performing snow removal;
  • Minor roof repairs (gutters, downspouts, drains);
  • Assisting in the overall Preventative Maintenance Program for the properties;
  • Completing work orders for deficiencies or repairs sighted throughout the properties; and
  • Maintaining high standards of service for Tenant Work Orders using quality workmanship.


  • Completion of high school diploma
  • Valid BC driver’s license
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in commercial/residential building maintenance and operations;
  • General proficiency in the use of applicable materials, tools, and equipment;
  • Capable of working on elevated platforms, climb ladders and lift 50lbs unassisted on a regular basis;
  • Ability to perform quality work, demonstrate proactiveness, deliver results, be resourceful, and meet tight deadlines;
  • Ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with tenants, contractors, and co-workers;
  • Positive and proactive attitude with a desire to learn;
  • Ability to work independently and take on new challenges as well as learn from others;
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English; and
  • Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
