The role manages the development process, budgets, and provides proforma analysis and project reporting to maximize profitability on real estate development projects.

Peterson is looking for an experienced Development Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Vice President, Development, this role will be responsible for managing the development process, budgets and providing proforma analysis and reports to maximize profitability on real estate development projects.

The position will work with various key consultants, including but not limited to architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, code, interior design and landscaping. The Development Manager will facilitate the overall design with consultants and the construction team to meet market and municipal engineering design standards while managing the project’s budget.

The ideal candidate has a good understanding of municipal planning and development guidelines, policies, requirements and has a demonstrated track record with over 5 years of experience. You are resilient and highly effective when dealing with a diverse range of people. You are experienced in managing and executing deliverables of real estate development projects on time, with high-level of detail, professionalism, discretion and tact in handling highly sensitive and confidential information.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing the entire development process from due diligence, planning, designing, scheduling and budgeting, to approvals, implementation and completion, ensuring the project is completed per project vision and goal
  • Preparing and maintaining proformas and feasibility analysis throughout the development process
  • Working with various key consultants, including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, code, interior design, and landscape
  • Liaising with municipal and government staff to secure various municipal and regulatory permits, and approvals, including rezoning applications and development/building permits
  • Reviewing appraisals and market analysis
  • Understanding municipal planning and development guidelines, policies, requirements, and possible upcoming changes
  • Reviewing and monitoring industry construction cost report and sales reports
  • Effectively managing external consultants/contractors to ensure work is to Company’s standards
  • Liaising with partner development teams to receive project updates
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with industry professionals, existing development partnerships, municipal staff, and consultant team members

SALARY RANGE: 115,000 – 140,000
